This book is my book, this book is your book...

.... no, wait! it's my book... no, wait- it's your book!
And all around me, a voice was calling,
this book is made for you and me...

According to this and this, men and women have surprisingly (!!!) opposite favourites as far as books are concerned. While women prefer books about passion and attachment, men prefer those that talk of - hold your breath- detachment and alienation.

Go on, go on, check out the links. Then, come back here and tell me your favourite books- fiction or non-fiction- those that moved you, spoke to you, saved you, meant the most to you. In short, books that changed your life.

And maybe, I shall compute the results of this survey and put them up on the blog later. At any rate, it would be interesting to know which literary productions move Indians.

My own 'watershed' list will be up in the next post.

U believe in this survey's and all..they are all bogus..they use all unscientific research techniques to come out with the results..the worst ones are done by india today & outlook..they should be banned..

well, my fav is Catcher On The Rye..the way it's written and all is awesome..i like the concept behind..Brave New World and Alchemist..

Non-fiction ..Man's Search for Meaning is good...lately i read this book Corporate Soul it's hajaar times better than books written by the fraudy gurus like robin sharma , deepak chopra et al..

cactus: all surveys reveal certain truths while hiding others. You should be discerning enough to see both sides.

Quite true 'generally' but let's not please stereotype people.
1. Crime and Punishment( not too detached though)
2. Siddhartha(ok!)
3. Catch-22(score 2)
4. The Fountainhead(3)
It is true for me that I have liked these books, although I liked reading Little Women, Hellen Keller etc too but never completed 'em.
